Position Summary
The Youth Services Manager is responsible for coordinating the educational needs of Tribal members and/or descendants and must demonstrate a commitment to working with children and adults in the Tribal community;
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Advocate for all educational needs for Tribal members.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and provide direct oversight of the day-to-day operations of the education department, respective programs, and workshops.
• Work closely with the Tribe’s social services to ensure coordination of other relevant services.
• Work with other departments to schedule workshops, speakers, and events for children and adults.
• Be an active listener to encourage and support staff and students.
• Maintain a professional working relationship with school district representatives, the public and staff.
• Represent the Tribe with integrity and goodwill.
Additional Functions
• Maintain and provide updates on the progress of students to their respective guardians.
• Organize different functions and programs related to educational, cultural and extracurricular interest in the youth services department.
• Prepare budget for youth services programs and directs maintenance of records of expenditures and receipts.
• Provide leadership in the development of department goals and objectives.
• Oversee, develop, and maintain department and program policies and procedures.
• Assure that required student and personnel forms and records are generated and maintained for the department.
• Seek grant funding for developing programs, providing interaction with various local, state and federal agencies and maintaining program accountability.
• Direct grant programs in line with the strategic plan, including annual plans, budgets, progress and outcomes.
• Recruit, hire, train, and directly supervise and monitor performance of education staff.
• Manage and coordinate staff development and program improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance to all tribal policies and procedures.
• Ensure required reports are completed by department staff.
• Approve schedules and timesheets for department.
• Delegate duties and responsibilities to other department staff, as appropriate.
• Use Windows, Excel, Word and other relevant computer software.
• Support summer youth programs and cultural activities.
• Other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change, as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise all Youth Services Personnel.

• Ability to manage, analyze and interpret financial data.
• Ability to think, reason, and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with K-12 and higher education academic standards and guidelines.
Position Qualifications
• Experienced Supervisory/Management skills with minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
• Experience working in a Tribal community.
• Up-to- date with computer skills and industry knowledge technology.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check, mental health assessment and possess a valid Washington driver’s license.
• Must meet coverage criteria according to the Tribe’s vehicle liability insurance.
• Must obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Must obtain NARCAN training.
• Must obtain Blood Borne Pathogen training.
