, ,Position Summary
The Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians strives to make their daycare a safe and fun place for the children enrolled in the daycare. The primary role of the Daycare Manager will to have a proactive role with the daycare children as well as give practical guidance to the daycare staff. The Daycare Manager is responsible for the day-to-day needs and care of the daycare children and its employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Participate with children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth with special emphasis on methodologies that are relevant to the native cultural heritage of the children.
· Responsible for processing enrollments, recording attendance, as well as health and safety checklists, and purchasing supplies
· Maintain and updates each child’s files, which may include personal information, parent or guardian contact numbers, and other daycare records.
· Perform the primary oversight of the coordination, care, and classroom instruction for daycare children enrolled in the Tribe’s daycare program.
· Meet with parents about their child’s issues such as behavioral or learning problems and other daycare-related concerns, which may include child safety, policies, curriculum or fees.
· Develops, implements and oversees the daycare’s schedule.
Provides necessary training programs for daycare staff members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
· The Manager is responsible to know and understand the daycare’s policies and regulations.
· The Manager ensures that all staff members meet the requirements for their jobs.
· Responsible for the recruitment, interviewing and selection of staff.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Organizational skills and knowledge in the realm of early childhood education.
· Knowledge of basic duties associated with being a childcare provider.
· Familiarity with the Stillaguamish Indian Community and tribal culture and customs.
· Knowledge of Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians Codes and Bylaws and ability determine where applicable or ability to learn them within 6 months of employment.
· Supervisory skills and ability to guide supplementary staff in daily activities.
· Ability to determine methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encourage learning experiences.
· Knowledge in inter-personal relations and community development to successfully achieve community and parent involvement.
Position Qualifications
· A teaching certificate in early childhood education is optimal.
· Four years’ experience working with children in a daycare, nursery or preschool.
· Two years of supervisory experience required.
· HIV, First Aid, and CPR Certified.
· Must have the ability to be TB tested.
· Must meet coverage criteria according to the Tribe’s vehicle liability insurance.
· Must be able to pass thorough pre-employment background check as well as periodic background testing.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must possess a valid Washington driver’s license.
$67,924/yearly salary
